Beach reality

No beach, no lake within walking distance. The swim venue is the hotel indoor-outdoor pool complex: main pool at 30C, baby pool at 33C, and a separate toddler slide zone for when yours is walking. In summer, the Schmalwasser reservoir and Inselsberg outdoor pool are 15 to 20 minutes by car with grassy entries and shallow roped zones. Winter is indoor pool every day plus sledging when snow arrives from late December. Treat water play as a hotel activity, not a coastline excursion.

When to go

June and September are the sweet spots: 18 to 24C daytime, forest green, pools fully heated, fewer German school holiday crowds. July and August hit 22 to 28C and fill up fast. December to February is snow-play season with indoor pools as the daily anchor. May works for forest flowers but the lakes are still cold. Skip November unless you want spa weather only.
