Ikos Andalusia

Estepona, Costa del Sol, Spain

Ikos Andalusia is the one where you rock up, hand over your wallet worries at the door, and just exhale. Nine heated pools, Michelin chef restaurants, a Worldwide Kids crèche from 6 months with published staff ratios, and 24 hour room service that’s actually good, it’s basically engineered for exhausted parents. Just know the beach is grey and rocky, so leave the bucket and spade at home and embrace pool life.

La Zambra in Mijas, Costa del Sol, Spain, baby friendly hotel with kids club from 6 months

La Zambra

Mijas, Costa del Sol, Spain

La Zambra is that rare find: a genuinely stylish hotel that takes babies seriously. The crèche starts at 6 months with two free hours daily (a godsend), and the space is well equipped with toys, a covered play area, and a playground, with staff who are clearly prepared for one-year-olds. The family pool has gentle beach-style entry perfect for wobbly walkers, and little ones get robes and cuddly toys on arrival. It’s set in the gorgeous Mijas hills rather than on the beach, think “recharge holiday” rather than “beach holiday”, but the trade off is a peaceful Andalusian retreat with an incredible spa for when the kids are in club. Just know on our stay the crèche team took genuinely attentive care of our one-year-old, which made those free hours feel like a real break. Restaurant quality felt uneven on our visit: one chicken main arrived undercooked. Staff fixed it promptly when we flagged it, but we didn’t rely on hotel dining again and ate locally instead. Only breakfast is included, so worth scouting local restaurants for lunch and dinner if you were counting on hotel meals.

Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, baby friendly hotel with kids club from 8 months
From 8 months

Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora

Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

A grand, polished five-star where the real magic for kids is water: a colossal saltwater infinity pool plus a creche that takes babies from 8 months. It's genuinely luxurious and beautifully run, with proper family suites and RedLevel perks. The honest notes: the 'beach' is a small black-sand strip with seawater pools rather than a classic sandy bay, and reports on in-house babysitting are inconsistent, so confirm directly if you need evening cover. Best for families who want polish, winter sun and a spectacular pool over beach life.

Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, baby friendly hotel with kids club from 6 months

Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife

Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

A big, buzzy, music-themed resort that quietly does babies well: the Lullaby club takes little ones from 6 months, with a few free childfree hours built into your stay and paid hours beyond that. Winter sun, multiple pools and a lively entertainment vibe make it an easy family week. Be honest with yourself about the 'beach', though: Playa Paraiso is a small rocky cove, not a sandy paradise, so you're really here for the pools. Great for parents who want energy, nightlife-adjacent buzz and childcare, less so for a quiet sandy-beach holiday.
